Q: Who are you, and where do you live?

My full identity is staying under wraps for reasons I'll spill in a bit, but my first name is Andrew. I was born in Surabaya, Indonesia, and grew up hopping between Surabaya and Jakarta. I juggled gigs as a sound engineer and IT consultant back in Indonesia. But now, I finally call the Bay Area home since 2023, working for a tech company (no, I'm not dropping names).

Q: What happened to your old videos?

I started my channel back in October 2016, with a different name. In 2023, I decided to shake things up: rebranding the channel as it is now and "rewiring" it to a new email. But something sh*t happened. All my comments, replies, and most of my videos, including all 40 flight reviews, disappeared. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to recover it despite trying my best. So, when I said it's my 21st flight review, it's actually the 61st I've ever published on YouTube.

Q: Do you do all this solo?

For the most part, yes. I handle all the video editing myself. The only exception is this website—shoutout to one of my nerdy subscribers for giving me a head start on that.

Q: How can I trust your flight reviews?

1. I keep my identity off the screen. No "special treatment" because I'm a well-known YouTuber. None of that fake influencer nonsense. Also, I never give airlines a heads-up about filming. They're completely in the dark.
2. I pay for every flight out of my own pocket. I'm fully transparent about how much I paid for each ticket. I never take sponsors from the airline/company I'm reviewing.
3. I write down all details on my notes while I'm on board. Why? Because I want my impression to be as raw and authentic as possible. If I waited for two months after the flight to write about it, chances are the details would fade—and worse, I might unintentionally make things up. That's not something I want. I want it real, right then and there.

One final note: Criticism ≠ ungrateful.

Flying is my zen. I enjoy every moment I'm up there. But when it comes to making an honest review... that's a different story. I'm a very critical person, and I look everything under a microscope... kind of. But at the same time, I'm fair. If something's great, I'll give it the credit it deserves. But if it's not so good, I won't hold back. I'll call it out and even sometimes throw in some suggestions for improvement. Some might find my delivery blunt, maybe even harsh. And I'm not denying it—that's just how I roll.

Take care and fly safe,
Andrew
